Welcome to Shine Stained Glass

Hello, my name is Mandy.  I’ve been a teacher of various subjects for over 30 years and I’ve been working with stained glass as a hobby for about 20.  It wasn’t until about two years ago that I decided to combine the skills and I think it was a good decision.

I now run stained glass workshops at my home as well as taking classes out to community groups and I really enjoy seeing the wonderful projects that my students make.  There are various styles and methods so I believe I can offer something for everyone and possibly even introduce you to a new hobby. You can make something beautiful for your home or as a gift in a one day workshop. Find out more below or on the Classes page

As well as teaching I like to rescue old and broken stained glass panels. There’s something very satisfying about taking an old window and bringing it back to a beautiful new life. As I’m repairing the panels and often need to take them apart, I can offer you the perfect opportunity to have an antique window made to the size you require, either by cutting it down or adding an extra border, or even joining two panels together. You can see a list of the windows I have waiting for repair/resizing on the Reclaimed Stained Glass page and examples of previous ‘before and after’ panels in my Gallery

I also occasionally make bespoke panels for customers who want something new or specific.

I’m based in the south of Hertfordshire, near the border with north London so if you’d like to try something new, like to learn how to make a stained glass panel or, if you’re looking for a stained glass window but can’t find one the right size, do get in touch. I look forward to seeing you.
